iLinx

"Electronics, Beat, Deep, Techno"

(English Bio)

iLinx (Gianmatteo Buttiglione), 31 years old, is a DJ/Producer of electronic music from Puglia (Italy), currently based in Rome. He has had a lifelong love and devotion to music. It is his passion and key to his innermost expression and joy. He has worked on his craft since childhood, learning to play guitar, bass and keyboards at a young age. Many influences, including those from studies of communication, semiotics and electronic music, gradually converged in a synthesis of different genres into his distinct and clear sound. Collaboration with SceneMusic Records led to his debut album which was distributed in vinyl and digital format by Goodfellas. While working on his album debut, he performed in popular music clubs in Rome such as Monk and Bibliotechina. These performances were warmly welcomed and he has become one of the residents at Generator Rome. iLinx’s music is a projection of personal and intense images of the artist. This is reflected in his performances where is possible to find elements of electronics, beat, deep, techno and patterns which represent his individual style. The term “iLinx” refers to a pattern of play (identified by the noted sociologist Roger Caillois) associated with the momentary destruction of perception. It can be vertigo, dizziness, or disorienting changes in direction of movement (swing, luna park) induced to momentarily destroy the stability of perception and inflict a kind of voluptuous panic upon an otherwise lucid mind. In all cases, it is a question of surrendering to the pleasure of spasm, seizure, or shock which destroys reality with sovereign brusqueness. This impulse is brought to life in iLinx’s debut album, “Inner”. It is a hybrid of hard emotions and poignant feelings - unique in its genre - where the coexistence of analog and digital sounds, real and sampled voices creates an innovative style. iLinx turns passionate restlessness into a constant and authentic regeneration.

Hedy Lamarr

"Indie Pop-Rock"

(English Bio)

Hedy Lamarr are Solange Mattioli and Umberto Duca.
This duo began their adventure in 2011, self-producing their first work “Tales from a cold winter”, eight pop-rock songs in english and french.
In 2014 they took part in “Movimenti Sonori – Switch on future” contest, an addition of a soundtrack and musical score competition for animated shorts, receiving the first honorable mention of Critics.
In 2015 they started a collaboration with Scene Music Records for the album “Amplitudeness”, personally composed and recorded by Umberto and Solange.
The name Hedy Lamarr is instead borrowed from the Austrian actress and scientist who, in the late ‘30s, was forced to migrate to USA due to her opposition to the Nazi regime.
The actress is well-known for two very distant and different important events: she shooted the first integral nude scene in the movies history and she invented the “frequency hopping system” which is, even now, at the base of modern telecommunications and wi-fi technologies.
This figure immediately bewitches the band because of her capacity to contain in her spirit both art and science, emotions and rationality, passion and dedication or, as it’s said, analog and digital.

PRUS Dall'Oltrefiaba

“Alternative Pop”

- "Just Like Frankenstein" vince il premio Miglior Fotografia al Widescreen Film and Music Video Festival di Miami

Sunmo

“Instrumental”

Francesco Clemente, born in Rome in 1989, falls in love with electronic music as much in clubs as in Aphex Twin's releases. He works as a DJ and graphic designer, and in the meantime he discovers (first) the italian hip hop of Colle del Fomento, and (later) the american hip hop of Madlib and J Dilla, finding himself inescapably following in Flying Lotus tracks. Too many influences for a single genre, in a form of music (electronic) that in a half century of existence has more sub-genres than any other. Therefore: electronica without limits or borders, this is Sunmo. Not so much the genre standing out, as much as the emotion.
Enjoy!

He has been performing as a DJ since 1988 under the name AXL P at various parties and clubs in Italy and Switzerland. Lunica Mente

“Blues, off beat, dubstep”

Lunica Mente (Luca Menenti on his ID) was born in Rome on April 2nd 1989. He starts playing electric guitar at 14, and at 22 decides start producing electronically, work which culminates in his EP Spells, which is however definitely more of a starting point that and arrival. Lunica Mente's music is characterized by mostly soft sounds, and often the presence of electric guitar infuses the music with a somewhat blues-like feel. The use of self-produced vocal samples adds to everything a decidedly dreamy touch.

The Spells EP is made up of two pieces of music which are quite different, yet brought together by the presence of a blues-like electric guitar. "Don't Look" is a track close to instrumental hip hop, with off beat tendencies. "Nothing at All", born out of a collaboration with Sunmo (Francesco Clemente), exists in a post-dubstep universe, with a "tropical" inflection coming from a rhythmic presence with strong influences from batucada samba.

Waxflatter

“Soundscape composition and drones: an experimental music project”

Waxflatter’s unique, evocative, and atmospheric brand of electro music makes him a favourite among Dutch and Belgian audiences, where both his beat-heavy tracks and ambient compositions enjoy a broad following among young creatives and trendsetters alike. On the back of the projected success of “Level Crossing”, due in part to its boundary-busting interactive music video, Waxflatter is planning tour dates at Amsterdam’s Trouw venue, as well as a series of student towns around the Netherlands including Tilburg, Leiden, and Rotterdam.

Fabrizio Greco’s new composition is named after a much beloved film character and is realized by using musical analitical data extracted from photographs that evocate memories of the village he grew up in.

The images of Chernobyl narrate a vision of a lost city, alive with micro organisms, animated by the squeaking of derelict carousels and entraped in silence and empty squares, where many lay the signs of a nuclear disaster.
The author imagines himself as Waxflatter, the scientist in Barry Levinson’s film, and travels within different landscapes that fuse non places with melancholic memories of his own lands.

The ‘contaminated city’ that we discover in the first few tracks explores the bucholic and idyllic aspects of Greco’s backrground. Here we encounter a ‘New World’ where what is extinct and withered has a joyful new life through memories. The past is here rediscovered in technicolour; it is a lush landscape full of vineyards and delicate perfumes, as soft as the sighs of the surrounding mountains.

As the acoustic carpet trips within a vortex of echoes we find ourselves confronted with a crossroad; we are then suspended in mid air with our feet glued down in cement. From then on the journey continues in a tranquil mood slightly overshadowed by the unpredictable and inevitable future that is to come.

The memories of laboratories and industries that chocke the green of that fertile land suddenly hit us; hence the sounds become more acid, louder and heavier reminding us of the very machinery that is the culprit.

A surreal staccato brings us amidst train and then coach tracks, at who’s guide are phantoms of the past that soften the atmosphere with folk guitars. Next we are transported in a forest that in the author’s mind represents both stupor for the marvellous and melancholy for the time been.

The leitmotif that keeps resurfacing is the sensation that good and evil are inextricably linked. How can such opposites coexsit? This is what I ask myself.

Desolation pushes us round the corner and through a secret passage inhabited by imaginary elkes and wizards riding electronic drones. The viscerality of this journey is a fantastical and metaphsical introspective script.

At this point we feel fire under our feet that forces us once again to choose which path to take at the crossroad we have previuosally encountered. Desert and glacial-like sounds allow us to communicate with our most inner selves where we discover the mountain and its animals. Next the sound of an abandoned ski resort brings us back to a space inhabited by others. We listen to the snowflakes falling, the sound of a chairlift is fused with that of a subway.

Once again we are confronted with the crossroad: shall we go up or down? It is in this very instant that the skilift brings us to the mountain hut, where childhood memories and dreams came to life, where all music was listened to, from violins to violas.
